with the culture of today you are either it or you Arnt.
I'm talking about the perfect mom culture
It's incredibly easy to feel like you are just not cutting it because you look around and everyone seems to have it together schedules, routines and the social esthetic of motherhood is perfect but in reality, motherhood is messy.
I'm eleven years into this mommy stuff and let me be the first to say it's always been a beautiful mess.
And unfortunately, it's taken me that long to come to the realization that this mess is full of beauty.
Maybe you are a little like me and had a expectation of what mom life would be like, and your world was rocked when you discovered your children and life itself care nothing about your vision or your esthetic schedule.
I'll admit I was starting to think this has to be a joke and God knew I was never going to be a perfect mom so why call me to this role.
God is perfect and it's in his perfection that I found and continue to find peace.
See God knows exactly who you were before motherhood and exactly where you are headed.
He meets you where you are, but he never leaves you the way he meets you.
When I started this motherhood journey
I was self-centered, lazy, unmotivated, young, inconsistent, and just simple underdeveloped.
For context I was expecting at 18 welcomed my fist born at 19
Fast forward to now age 30
I'll tell you what I've learned, and I pray that this wisdom transformers the way you see your journey and your perception of motherhood.
Ready or not when you take on the role of mom you are entering into a leadership position you are the one setting the course. All eyes are on you and how you show up matters.
But wait pause
That does not mean perform
It just means be aware and intentional but most importantly be flexible. And ready at all times to pivot.
Remember messy
I'm sure by now you know how easily overwhelmed you can become when your plans change.
life is full of curve balls God plan is not predictable, so we have to count it joy when life throws us in a direction we never planned for.
Easier said than done right?
I know but if we can gain ground over our minds and focus in those moments on how this set back is teaching us to be better in some way whether it be patience or perseverance.
it's so important to have a firm foundation in life because situations in life will uproot you. my foundation is Jesus no matter what comes my way I find peace in knowing that God knows exactly where I am, and he is with me.
So, what you can't stick a landing in the perfect mom era.
society will have you believing life is easy and people are perfect meanwhile your children just want who you are now.
and so does Jesus.
I pray you are gracious with yourself knowing your best is good enough and where you are is exactly where you are supposed to be.
